Thursday 9 – Intern Profile: Bjorn Lundin

Say hello to Bjorn, the intern coach.

Say hello to Bjorn, the intern coach.

How long have you been CrossFitting?

Just over a year, about 16 months.

Can you remember your first workout? What was it like?

I started CrossFit at home and one of the first workouts I did was 100 Burpees for time. Being 6ft2” inches tall and close to 100kg’s - moving that far, that many times was not fun. It absolutely destroyed me and took close to 15 minutes. Felt awful during but couldn’t wait to do it again to try and better my time!

What has been one of the biggest things in your life that has changed since starting CrossFit?

CrossFit has given me the confidence and strength to take on anything! Whether it is at work, home or any physical challenge there is nothing I feel I can’t do. CrossFit has given me an identity and purpose for my life; this is what I am meant to be doing. It’s a profound and amazing feeling!

How did you end up walking through our doors for the first time?

I had been at another affiliate for some time and was ready for a change so as soon as I heard of RCF09 opening and that it was the sister of CFNZ I knew it was the place for me. I am really excited to be part of a new box and cannot wait to see and help it grow.

What would we always find in your fridge?

Bacon with a chance of bacon wrapped in bacon. Oh and probably some unsweetened almond milk. Did I mention bacon?

What are you doing when you aren't Crossfitting?

Depends on the weather but enjoy trail running, swimming and my wife would say I spend too much time playing computer games.

Best footwear for training?

What tunes do you like working out to?

Anything with a beat will do.

Is there a RCF09 member that inspires you?

I’ve met so many great people so far it’s too hard to pick one but anyone who puts everything into a workout and you know they are working their butt off inspires me.

Where is your go to restaurant for healthy eats?If we are going out it’s generally to enjoy a cheat meal so most of the healthy eating is home cooked. Some great recipes onhttp://paleomg.com/http://nomnompaleo.com/. Otherwise Pita Pit may be a healthy’ish choice for convenience.
What achievement in CrossFit are you most stoked about thus far?

Over the year I discovered how much I love to coach so getting my Level 1 Cert and sharing my passion for CrossFit has been a very special experience for me. I also love Olympic lifting so any PR has been awesome as well.

What would you like to have achieved at RCF09 a year from now?

To complete my internship and become a coach would be top of the list and a close second would be to qualify for the Australia Regional.
