Just over a year, about 16 months.
I started CrossFit at home and one of the first workouts I did was 100 Burpees for time. Being 6ft2” inches tall and close to 100kg’s - moving that far, that many times was not fun. It absolutely destroyed me and took close to 15 minutes. Felt awful during but couldn’t wait to do it again to try and better my time!
CrossFit has given me the confidence and strength to take on anything! Whether it is at work, home or any physical challenge there is nothing I feel I can’t do. CrossFit has given me an identity and purpose for my life; this is what I am meant to be doing. It’s a profound and amazing feeling!
I had been at another affiliate for some time and was ready for a change so as soon as I heard of RCF09 opening and that it was the sister of CFNZ I knew it was the place for me. I am really excited to be part of a new box and cannot wait to see and help it grow.
Bacon with a chance of bacon wrapped in bacon. Oh and probably some unsweetened almond milk. Did I mention bacon?
Depends on the weather but enjoy trail running, swimming and my wife would say I spend too much time playing computer games.
Best footwear for training?
Anything with a beat will do.
I’ve met so many great people so far it’s too hard to pick one but anyone who puts everything into a workout and you know they are working their butt off inspires me.
Over the year I discovered how much I love to coach so getting my Level 1 Cert and sharing my passion for CrossFit has been a very special experience for me. I also love Olympic lifting so any PR has been awesome as well.
To complete my internship and become a coach would be top of the list and a close second would be to qualify for the Australia Regional.
