How long have you been a member at Reebok CrossFit 09?
-Joined up at start of the year February March.
How did you end up walking through our doors for the first time? Was there a pivotal event that led you to us?
-last year I was crossfitting in a garage in Ranui, it was awesome at the time but got to a point that I needed somewhere that had proper coaches, was closer and had better equipment, lol it was fun chucking kegs above your head but definitely glad to use wall balls now.
Can you remember your first CrossFit experience? What was it like and how did you feel? Excited? Nervous?
-Yea haha it was nice. Partner chipper style wod with a run between rounds and I was so very close to spewing on the run especially after the hand release burpees. The next week at my normal gym it just seemed so slow and boring that i had to sign up.
What are your favourite training shoes?
-No real favorites, except maybe my rugby boots.
What are you doing when you aren't CrossFitting?
-Completed a few triathlons so train for those although waiting for summer at the moment so i can play tag .
Enjoy a bit of gardening as well, just planted the vege garden so that's exciting.
What has been one of the biggest things in your life that has changed since starting CrossFit?
-The year I started crossfit was the year I stopped playing league. It pretty much filled the huge hole that league left once I stopped. Was able to have something to train for, satisfied my competitive nature and got to hang out with cool people all while keeping me fit and healthy without the fear of getting knocked out.
What is your favourite CrossFit exercise and describe your perfect WOD?
-I enjoy double unders and single arm snatches. A perfect wod would be a chipper style wod with no thrusters or burpees.
What is your athletic background?
-I played rugby league for most of my life stopped a few years ago.
Represented NZ in tag football for a test series against ozzie.
Couple years ago I completed a half iron man and started doing triathlons.
Is there a Reebok CrossFit 09 member who inspires you?
-The coaches are awesome and I am definitely inspired by them. Chris Ward, he is a great guy, nice beard and always encouraging.
Greatest CrossFit accomplishment to date?
-Competing in the HPU comp at les mills. That was awesome and was super happy with how our team went.
What would you like to have achieved at Reebok CrossFit 09 a year from now?
-A TGU with 50 kg barbell and a freestanding Hand stand push up.
Interesting fact about yourself that most people may not know?
-Just started farming worms so hit me up if you are after some worm juice and that is the most interesting thing about me, worms.
