How long have you been a member at Reebok CrossFit 09?

Not long enough! Less than a year

How did you end up at CrossFit?

I was tired!

Tired of lugging my fat ass up stairs, tired of not sleeping properly, tired of never having any energy and tired of not being fit enough to reach my full potential in life

Talk to us about your first CrossFit experience?

Cleaning chunks from the shower drain following my first (spewrpee heavy) workout: this is also when I got irrevocable life time membership to the “I HATE burpees club”.  I looked so bad post-workout that my mum told me not to go back again! Luckily Krista managed to talk me into trying again and showed me how to scale my workout and recognise my limits.

To be honest Crossfit is incredibly intimidating, but at 09 I feel like I’m cradled in safe hands with the amazing skilled and motivational coaches and their individual style and strength. Also the split into fitness/performance with scalable WODS makes Crossfit for non-naturally athletic people seem achievable.

What are your favourite training shoes?

I have favourite pants: my lululemon sweat-wicking, four-way stretch, breathable crops (that protect my wussy girlly knees from the ground during burpees).

What are you doing when you aren't CrossFitting?

Work, eat, sleep repeat.

What has been one of the biggest things in your life that has changed since starting CrossFit?

Fitness and diet is now a priority not a “nice to have”. I’ve lost 7kg and gained strength in all my exercises.

What is your favourite CrossFit exercise and describe your perfect workout?

Choosing my favourite CrossFit exercise is like choosing my favourite area to get waxed! They all suck but it’s always so much better after!Every WOD is perfect, it’s the reason I keep coming back to Crossfit, I don’t have to plan anything, I just turn up and know I’m going to sweat till I can’t stand up. Each workout is different and I’m often surprised at what my body can do when forced, I mean, encouraged to.

What is your fitness background?

I’ve pretty much tried every team and extreme sport you can think of with a true passion for skiing; however, my enthusiasm consistently outweighs my skill.

Greatest CrossFit accomplishment to date?

Coming 3 days a week every week, haha can I have a Certificate of Participation for the fridge?

What would you like to have achieved at Reebok CrossFit 09 a year from now?

I would like to embody the coaches motto:

Strong, Smart, Sexy!
