One step forward, or one back…?

tiree_muscleup

We're officially into spring this week, which means our Spring Team Challenge is not far away.   It looks like many other gyms have the same idea, I've spoken at 3 in the last month to help them kick off their nutrition challenges, and Facebook is awash in excitement and anticipation.

We are all motivated more by the thought of summer and beach season.  But my concern is not that the motivation might wane slowly once winter closes back in; rather it's that it will wink out like a light, completely extinguished by the very first work Xmas party, never to be seen again until we start talking about the next Spring Challenge.

Our hope is that these challenges will help people to improve their knowledge of nutrition, to learn more about how their bodies deal with various foods, and take a step forward in their health.  A step that, no matter how small, still leaves them ahead of the current norm, even with that winter wane.

Thus every time you do one of these challenges, your health is better off than before.  Even if a small step, as long as it's a step forward and one that continues.

Don't be that person taking an equal step backward every year, cancelling out all the good work they've done.
