Today we're talking to Tiree MacDonald!

How long have you been a member at Reebok CrossFit 09?

I started at the end of January 2014

How did you end up walking through our doors for the first time? Was there a pivotal event that led you to us?

Well I'd heard about crossfit before (through internet and other gyms) and thought it sounded absolutely crazy.. for crazy people, so of course the only thing to do was to try it. Turns out I am a crazy person and after the first couple of sessions I knew this was gonna be awesome. I came across the gym because my mum was driving past one day and saw the sign outside and told me to check it out. So I did.. Best decision ever

Can you remember your first CrossFit experience? What was it like and how did you feel? Excited? Nervous?

In the intro sessions, the exercises were obviously a lot easier because we were just learning so it was a shock doing the first proper WOD- Good shock though, it was heaps of fun

What are your favourite training shoes?

Although I am a diagnosed Nike addict (with 6 pairs of Nike shoes, oops), I love my nano's for Crossfit

What are you doing when you aren't CrossFitting?

Mainly school, part time job, dancing, and probably eating lots of food :))

What has been one of the biggest things in your life that has changed since starting CrossFit?

I feel so much better about myself and have something to look forward to after school/work. I love feeling myself get stronger and lift heavier/more reps. Its super satisfying. And of course meeting lots of amazing people!

What is your favourite CrossFit exercise and describe your perfect WOD?

Favourite exercise, apart from handstands, would probably be back squats or toes-to-bar

What is your athletic background?

I have done a bit of gymnastics when I was younger, and then got into competitive cheerleading for about 6 years. I've all sorts of sports like netball, soccer, swimming, but cheerleading was my main sport over that period

Is there a Reebok CrossFit 09 member who inspires you?

So many people!! I always seem to find something I admire in people and that definitely helps motivate me to become a better athlete.

Greatest CrossFit accomplishment to date?

70kg backs squat was really exciting, also my 15kg pistols and my first deadhang pull-up!

What would you like to have achieved at Reebok CrossFit 09 a year from now?

7 dead hang pull-ups in a row, 80kg back squat and a strict handstand pushup. I know theres lots of other things but I can't list them all!

Interesting fact about yourself that most people may not know?

My dad has a beehive in our back yard so we farm our own organic honey. Also I love outdoor activities and my favourite thing is caving.
