Too busy, too tired, cant get to the gym, stuck at work, work party, family gathering, kids to organise, got a long travel schedule, whatever, there are a million reasons why you cant get a workout in leading up to, and during the holidays.
Do something, do anything.
Anything is better than nothing.
Years ago, if I couldn't get to the gym I wouldn't bother doing anything.  Despite owning a bike, a skateboard, a pair of rollerblades, a boxing bag hanging in the garage with a skipping rope as well.  And I'm embarrassed to say it was because I not only thought a short workout wasn't effective, but that if it wasn't with fancy machines, it wasn't worth it....
A round of Tabata squats will take exactly 3mins:50sec.  And trust me, it's pretty darn effective.  One single, ballsout, max set of pushups or pullups is definitely worth it.  Even a run along the waterfront, however short, however slow, is still going to be good for you, compared to nothing at all.
And if you want to step it up a notch, make it measureable and repeatable.
- by that I mean something you could do again and aim to beat.  It's no fun if you don't do it again and see if you can beat your old score!!
Here's an example of 10min workouts you could use to get through the holidays.
Boxing Day: Run as far as you can in 4mins, rest 2mins, then see how close you can get to home in 4mins.
Dec 27: 1 Pushup, 2 Situps, 3 Squats, 4 Mountain climbers, 5 Starjumps.  AMRAP in 10mins
Dec 28: 200m beach sprints every 90sec x 6
Dec 29: Alternating Tabata Squats + Pushups (20s work:10s rest x 8), Rest 2mins, Alternating Tabata Situps + Burpees
Dec 30-Jan 2, try and beat your scores!! (don't forget to warmup first.....)
