For those of you have been wondering who the good looking young fellow was coaching class this week....
Let me introduce you to Lewis, our newest part time coach. He hails from the Hawkes Bay, where he coached been coaching for almost 3 years, working with a variety of people from kids to elderly, elite to not so much, and corporate groups.
Let's get to know him better. He's around CFNZ on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons on the regular, but while we have coaches away, he'll be over here as well.
When did you start CrossFitting?
Can you remember your first workout? Comments?
Some class workout that I found stupidly tough. I loved it! Haha.
I think it was:
200m Med Ball Run
10 Press Ups
10 Med Ball Cleans
Where in the world would you most like to travel?
Cook Islands. My dad’s family is from there and I haven’t been there yet.
If you were on an island and could only bring 3 things (not people), what would you bring?
-And some Fish Oil… Because according to Bear Grylls everything contains protein. And it’s important to get some fats in your diet as well.
Favourite and least favourite exercise?
Fav – The one where you lie down and close your eyes… That is what a burpee is right?
Least Fav – Mobility
Do you have a nickname?
I’m open to suggestions.....
How did you get into coaching? What was it about it that interested you at first?
Started as an alternative option to my gym routine. Fell in love and now we’re happily married. The thing that interested me was the inclusion of multiple facets of fitness.
If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you, and why?
Will Smith. Enough said.....
What super power would you like to have?
Do you have a big training goal for 2015? And any other cool things
planned this year?
Not really. I’m quite boring haha
Which time period would you travel to if you had a time machine?
The future. Because I’d come back and place bets on the CrossFit Games
What mentors/coaches/influences have you had in your journey as an athlete and as a coach? Any major lessons you'd like to share with us?
Other successful athletes and coaches like Michael Jordan and Phil Jackson. A major lesson? Have fun.
What was the last movie you watched?
300, the second one. I needed some motivation for chest and ab day haha

Money: Master the Game, Tony Robbins (I suck at referencing)

What do you do for fun outside of work? Besides CrossFit of course....

After helping others achieve their fitness goals? Being able to train and learn at some awesome fitness facilities.
