When did you start CrossFitting?

I started around March 2011.
Can you remember your first workout?  Comments?
My first ever WOD at a box was the first open workout in 2011... Snatches and double unders if i remember rightly... lovely little mixture to help you end up lying on the floor at the end of it all!
Where in the world would you most like to travel? 
I would love to travel to the Sahara Desert, seeing animals in their natural habitat is awesome.
If you were on an island and could only bring 3 things (not people), what would you bring?
Ah though question, I think I would have to take a knife, fishing rod and sleeping bag
Favourite and least favourite exercise?
Running... my arch nemesis
Do you have a nickname?
Not that I know of...
How did you get into coaching?  What was it about it that interested you at first?
I have always loved the idea of being able to make a positive impact on the people around me and when I was approached down in Wellington to start coaching, I never looked back! So great to see all of those little day to day improvements athletes are making... 😀
If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you, and why?
Robert Downey Jr. simply because he has a great sense of humour in his acting...
Which super power would you like to have?
The ability to freeze time.. hello productivity!!
Do you have a big training goal for 2015?  And any other cool things planned this year?
Train my back up to get strong enough to compete again...
Which time period would you travel to if you had a time machine? And why? 
The age of the dinosaurs! how awesome would it be to see how massive they must have been!
What mentors/coaches/influences have you had in your journey as an athlete and as a coach?  Any major lessons you'd like to share with us?
My first introduction to CrossFit was through my competitive swimming coach Jim Floerchinger. He is such an amazing coach, and boy did he get me hooked to Crossfit! Always striving for perfect form, he taught me the fundamentals of learning to squat with correct form, how to do perform kipping pull-ups, bear crawling and much much more! would not trade those few years for anything! I still remember when he took me to my first ever CrossFit competition at Central Wellington... absolutely loved it!
Second main influence was Chris McSweeney and Hugh from CrossFit Kapiti! both pushing me perfect my form - this is when i found out how amazingly important technique is to you for oly lifts.
Lastly both Darren and Krista have been such a great influence and mentor to me! both the most amazing coaches in their own right, and so willing to share their knowledge to develop mine... I have learned so much from these two... and i am sure i am only as the tip of the iceberg!!
As for lessons... my brother always seemed to teach me that having a little competitive rivalry in daily WODs never hurts... 😀 or maybe thats just brother rivalry...
What was the last movie you watched?
Lets be cops... if you want a good abs workout from laughing so hard, I would recommend!
What was the last book you read?
The only books i seem to have time to read these days are Textbooks...
What is your favourite workout music?
I love a little old school ACDC, Rammstein and also some of the new Skrillex etc to get into the mood of things...
What do you do for fun outside of work? Besides CrossFit of course....
Love to travel, see new parts of our amazing country and get to the beach!
What would we always find in your fridge??
Milk... for the morning coffee
What do you like the most about coaching?
As i mentioned before... simply being able to affect people lives in a positive way and see the amazing affects that a good training regime, healthy diet and dedication can really do to someone.
